Richard,

This printer is a wireless printer and does not need to use a usb port to the router.

It would connect to 2.4GHz and can use WPA/WPA2 (TKIP) Security (Personal)

I use these Recommended Wireless Router Settings and use channel 11. If you need to change security, I would suggest a new SSID for 2.4GHz of your router. That will make connecting easier.

First run Delete Print Jobs to remove stuck print job(s) from the queue, then restart your computer.

Make sure the printer is not usb cable connected to your computer.

Start, control panel, programs and features, your printer, uninstall.

Restart your computer. Make sure the printer was removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal

On the printer, click on the wrench, look for reset the network adapter back to factory.

Then if you have the printer disk, with the computer online, insert the printer disk, choose new installation, network and follow the instructions. It should prompt you to connect the printer and ask for your network name and password.

Remember virus programs and firewalls will block communications.

Do you have antivirus installed?  Try scanning your system first.
