Printing Offline
Does anyone know if the Dell AIO 948 printer is capable of printing in the Offline mode? I am unable to get the printer to communicate with my Computer - Dell Inspirion Intel Pentium 4 while my computer is offline. Is this normal? How much information about what I am printing is being splashed all over the Internet?? Why does the printer need the internet?
OS: Windows XP Pro SP3
Dell Inspirion Intel Pentium 4
Model: OptiPlex GX 240

AgnesEthel,
The 948 printer has wireless capabilities. The printer, when setup correctly, can use your wireless router or it can also use what is call the ad-hoc mode to print without attaching a USB Cable to it. The printer has to be online to be able to print to it. It does not use thw internet to communicate, just the wireless card in it or a USB Cable, depending on how you're connected to the printer.
Any printer that is used has to be online to be able to print. If the printer is offline, then when you click the print button, it will not print the document you want printed.
Anymore questions, please feel free to ask.
