Something wrong with the black ink cartridge.

I've had this printer a little over a year, so it's kind of hard to find someone from Dell to help me.  I'm not sure what number to call, and it's not really the printer that is giving me trouble.  The color ink cartridge works, but I think the black ink cartridge is clogged.  When I print something in black, it makes noises like it is printing, but when it comes out, it is blank.  It says I still have half of the ink cartridge left, but I don't know why it's not showing.  It is the dell printer 922.  I've tried unplugging the cord, taking the cartridge out and putting it  back in... I'm not sure what to do next.  Please help me.  Thanks.

When you don't use your ink carts for a while, when you get new ink carts that have been stored in warehouses for a number of months, or when you have refilled a slightly too dry ink cart, the print head nozzles on the bottom of the ink carts get clogged inside with dried ink. The printer head cleaner menu will NOT dissolve the dried ink inside of the nozzles. Water will. Try this. Soak the bottom of the clogged ink cart in 1/2 inch of hot water for 15 minutes. Blot dry with clean paper towel. Also wipe the electrical contacts on the back of the ink cart. Retry.
