Status Monitor Console causing issues can't remove
I am trying to uninstall Status Monitor Console using add remove programs on a fully patched Windows 2003 Server. The Uninstall starts but the progress indicator never moves.
Is there a way to manually remove this software? It has started causing issues with the server such as during a log off or a restart the Status Monitor Console requires an "end task". Sometimes after an "end task" the desktop is lost and can't be recovered and requires a reboot.
I have tried a repair of all components, a removal of all components, and removal of only the Status Monitor Console they all have the same result... Task Manager does show the application as running however I have let it set 20 minutes without any movement of the status indicator.
Has anyone seen this before? Any ideas on how to completely remove the software?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I too couldn't figure out where to remove the software, but the executable process is DLPSP.EXE - you can find this either in the registry where it is loading in currentversion\run and delete it from there... also make sure it is not loading in your startup items. That way, the stupid process isn't running, and doesn't cause your machine to hang! You can always start the app and then end the process manually if you need it, but I haven't found a real functional use for it considering the consequences!!
