Unable to install HP PSC1610xi

I am installing the HP PSC 1610xi to my Dell Dimension 2400. I get 40% done with the installation and get error messages and have to uninstall the program. Also upon startup, I get 15 random dll error messages. any help would be appreciated.

HP said I have to update my BIOS. I need help
