Unable to Scan using a Dell AIO 926

We recently bought a Dell Inspiron 1750 and are using a AIO 926 printer with a Dell 3300 on a wireless network.

The problem is not being able to scan, we can print and copy but not scanning, it keeps telling me to check connections which are fine.

I downloaded the latest driver for windows 7 x64 and it still will not let me scan.

Any help if there is a solution wouold be greatly appreciated.

whatdoyouwantmetouse, (Wish it was shorter:emotion-5:)

Let start near the begining.

What is the make and model of your wireless router? Can you tell me what type of security and channel you're using?

Rick,

I currently use a D-Link DIR 615 with WEP.  I use to use channel 6, but that was with the old router. I can't seem to find where I can located the channel on this new router since Windows 7 did everything for me.

Mike,

I would actually change to WPA-PSK(TKIP) Security (Personal) Try using these Recommended Wireless Router Settings, use channel 11. How to login to your wireless router

After you have the wireless router changed, then I have the instructions for the Dell 3300. Setting up the Dell Wireless Printer Adapter 3300

When you go to install the 3300 Utility, please remember to install it in the compatibility mode. I tested it on Windows 7 and it will work if installed in the Vista SP2 mode. The 3300 will then need to be connected to your computer. It will ask for your network, type of security and password. When the connection is done, then it will get connected to your printer.

Then you'll need to run the patch(printer cleanup utility), to completely remove the printer from your computer. Restart your computer when prompted. The install the Vista drivers in the compatibility mode, then choose network and follow the instructions.

Nore information for the downloading of the patch and drivers can be found at...

926 Photo All-In-One Printer owners thread (W7)

Instructions for using the compatibility mode are also there.

If you have any questions, I will help you but I am getting ready for work, so this is a quick post, sorry. I can help you step by step, if you need me to.

Mike,

I only posted everything at the same time as people sometimes try to do everything at the same time. I am working this evening, which I usually don't, so I sort of crammed everything together. If you want to go step by step, I usually answer every day, so I can walk you through the router first, then the 3300 and then the printer, which is easier. Some people try to rush it because they need to print something immediately.
