when my dell laptop and my dell printer go to sleep from inactivity, I cannot print until I shut off both the laptop and the printer. How do I solve this problem?
Usually when a printer goes in the sleep mode, they usually wake when there is a print jobs sent to it. There was one model that would not wake, cannot remember the model number.
As for the laptop, try these tweaks...
Go to device manager(right click my computer, left click properties, left click hardware, left click device manager)
Go to the USB Controller section and click the + sign.
Go to each USB Root Hub and right click on it, left click properties, left click power management. Uncheck the box, allow computer to turn off this device to save power.
Restart your computer.
