Which Lexmark is Dell AIO 964?

Question

I made the mistake of buying an AIO964 and the SW won't install on it. I have gone through every instance of Dell support at no avail. Does anyone know which Lexmark printer this is? The 964 looks closest to Lexmark's X7170 or X8350, but I'm not sure which one it is. I'm going to try to download/buy the driver SW from Lexmark and see if that helps. thanks Knut

It is not any Lexmark. It is built by lexmark to Dells specs. and is electronically configured not to work with any drivers or ink carts other than Dell. What computer and operating system are you using. I have seen people work like crazy to install their Dell printer on a Mac or Win 95 or 98 or some other system.

Hi William,

I'm running WIndows 2000 pro, sp4 + rollup + latest updates.

The problem is that the Dell All-In-One Center, which is a shortcut to
"C:\Program Files\Dell Photo AIO Printer 964\dlcjaiox.exe"
does nothing. I tried to execute it from both explorer and cmd with same result.
You get an hour glass for one second and then nothing happens.

Functions that don't depend on the AIO center works, such as printing, but
you can't scan.

Dell tech support doesn't have a clue. I downloaded latest SW driver and latest
firmware (in that order when installing from the CD failed).
