WORK AROUNDS FOR WORKGROUP/HOMEGROUP WITH FILE AND PRINTER SHARING
I have a fully functioning Workgroup/Homegroup for File and Printer Sharing. The connected equipment is as follows: Desktop - Inspiron 560 MT, Windows 7, Home Premium, 64 Bit; Laptop - Inspiron 6400, Windows XP, Media Center Edition; Netbook - Inspiron Mini, Windows XP, Home Edition; Printer - V505 AIO. There were numerous issues with the compatability of the printer and the desktop, in order to get around this, the printer software was installed on the netbook and printer sharing was enabled. However, there is still an outstanding issue, that Dell will only offer to correct at cost to me. When the netbook is started there is a delay of around 20 minutes before it is able to access the internet, during this time, the printer is not available to the Workgroup/Homegroup. I assume the printer software is intefering with the netbook's wireless network connection. I have tried the printer software on the laptop, same result, delay of around 20 minutes. Uninstalling then installing the printer software on either the netbook or laptop, same result, delay of around 20 minutes. Any ideas?

NewExpert,
You can try...
Share Files and Printers between Windows 7 and XP, this works both ways. The host computer will need the 32-bit and the 64-bit drivers installed on it in order to print.
Did you try reinstalling the printer, download the Vista 64-bit drivers(Windows 7 64-bit) and install the drivers in the Compatibility mode?
Links to the drivers and how to instal, can be found at...
