Address Book in Outlook

Create a folder to hold the backup file. Open Outlook and go to File|Import and Export|Export to a file|Personal Folder File (.pst). Browse to the folder you created and follow the prompts.

If you wish to bring the backup data back into Outlook go to File|Import and Export|Import from another program or file|Personal Folder File (.pst) and follow the prompts.

You can also download a backup addin that will back up all the data in Outlook.

Works in Outlook 2000, 2002 and 2003.

Thanks for info, I am going to backup on a zip drive but when I re-install is it just a case of importing the personal address book for the zip drive?.

Will this put all my contacts etc in the right file in outllook.

 

 So use to Outlook Express.

Yes, it should work OK, In MS Outlook, File, import and export, select 'import from another program or file', click next, select 'personal folder file (.pst)', click next, select the options you want, browse to where the .pst file is, select it, click open, then click next, select the options you want, etc.

Also, instead of importing, you can just use File, Open on the menu, browse to the backup pst file and open it. You can then drag and drop some or all entries into your current Contacts folder using Folder View. The backup file is just a copy.
