can't download drivers from dell
/I'm helping someone w/ their laptop - Inspiron mini 9x and using my laptop to download the drivers for a repair install. They have xp and I have windows. I use firefox. I have the system set for xp, I put the drivers on a flash drive and the all come out with the same name "Download Manager Application" and when I click on them the mini doesn't have a clue what to do with them. I can't seem to get the Download Manager to work and I can't get the files to download in some kind of recognizable format. Is there a way to just download the driver without the whole side show. A job that should have take 1 - 2 hours has now run all night. Thanx for your input.

You'll need to clear out the download manager and start over with the second browser option.
1) Go to Add/Remove - if Dell Download Manager is listed, remove it. It may not be listed, especially if you tried to download it straight to the USB drive.
2) The Download Manager adds a cookie to make it the default. Clear out all your browser temp files and cookies, or just the ones listed as being from dell.com.
3) Go back to the drivers page - you should get the popup back to choose the SECOND browser option. Then download the files individually.
Basically that's just a more detailed version of what's in the FAQ's:
