Can't update Cyberlink PowerDVD 12
I have CyberLink Media Suite Essentials preinstalled on my new Dell desktop. I tried to update my PowerDVD 12.0.3205.55 with the free update. It uninstalled my old version first, but when it tried to install the update, it gave me this error message below. Now I can't run PowerDVD, because it's been uninstalled. Now what do I do?
You do not have the required version of the program installed on your system. The installation will abort. Please contact your application provider.

You cannot update after uninstalling the qualifying version. Reinstall it and try again. It is available from My Dell Downloads.Google it to find it.
An update is not a new version. It simply updates the one you have. The OEM version from Dell does not usually qualify for any upgrades, just bug fixes. You can ignore the update offers and use the version that came on the computer.

it only uninstalled powerdvd and updated it to the new version and that worked fine. it is just the other programs refuse to update. if this is OEM version and it doesnt qualify for upgrade then that is probably the issue.. i don't understand that it won't qualify for upgrade though. makes the program kinda unusefull.
even more unusefull is the fact that powerdvd does work with Bluray discs with dolby atmos . but refuses to play the same file from the same disc in dolby atmos when opened in the filebrowser. it just reverts to pcm output eventhough i set in the settings that it should use hd-audio. everytime i play a movie with hd-audio i have to set it back to hd-audio, kinda ***. so i guess i just uninstall it and keep on using kodi as this works fine and is a free program unlike powerdvd and has a much slicker interface too and best of all you just set the settings once and never look at it again, it just automaticly switches to the right audio output and plays the bluray in 24hz 1080p how it should be.. imho dell better skip the whole cyberlink stuff as it is a lot of resource taking programs which most people dont even know how to use, besides that it has a lot of bugs and is not updatable so one get stuck with a popup everytime the program opens telling one that it needs to be updated to function properly..

I did not mean to uninstall the program myself. When I launched Cyberlink for the first time, it told me that an update was available for bug fixes, and asked me if I wanted to update the software. It automatically uninstalled the old version, downloaded the updated version, and started to install the new version. But then it gave me the error message, saying the old version can't be found. So what do I do now?

Reinstall the original version and ignore the update messages. The Dell OEM version is not eligible for updates. I've tried it several times and it always fails. CyberLink wants you to buy the upgrade. Download the original from My Dell Downloads.
