Current system configuration doesn't work with new dell support 3

Current system configuration doesn't work with new dell support tool.

When I had version 2 support I could use current system confif. but it won't work with version 3. I have tried everything. Including uninstalling version 3, and reinstalling version 2 that came with my computer. When I did that system configuration worked again, the only problem is, version 3 reinstalled itself and then removed version 2, now system configurtion doesn't work again. I have read this board in the past, other people had the same problem, some said that system configuration isn't compatible with version 2.  Is this correct?

It can tell my warranty info, my original shipping info, but when you click on current config. it just keeps saying " You have chosen to not have Service Tag Finder examine your computer". Which is ridiculous because when I click on the other two tabs (warranty info, and original system info.) it lists my tag.

So what is the answer to this problem then?

I am having the same trouble.   What is this all about.  It worked before, but now I keep getting the same message everytime.  Any fixes for the problem?

I've never received an answer. I'd given up thinking it was just incompatible. After seeing your message I went back to the boards and found this answer from Stinsonddog.

In Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options. On the General Tab, under the Temporary Internet Files section, click the "Settings" button. Next, click the "View Objects" button. This should render a window titled "Downloaded Program Files".  If you see an item titled "SysProWmi Class", delete it, then close all browsers. Finally, reconnect and try System Profiler again.

After doing this I went back online to:

I tried it again. Accepted the license agreement, it reinstalled the item, and then told me that I chose not to install tag finder.

When I went and clicked first on original configuration, nothing came up- However when I clicked on current configuration it took a while but now it comes up.

Try it, it worked for me.

The answer was provided by another user a couple of months ago in this thread:
