Dell can't install System Software on Windows 7.
Hello, everyone.
Im new here in this community forum, but i got a problem.
I have Dell Inspiron 1525, and Windows 7 Ultimate then i dowloaded kind of drivers then System Software but it won't install, then this message:
This Microsoft Windows operating system service pack is not supported.
Please update to the latest Microsoft Windows service pack.
I've installed Windows 7 SP1 but it gives me the same problem.
Please anyone help me.

The Dell System Software listed on the downloads for the 1525 are for Vista 32 bit. There is no Windows 7 version listed. Have you tried installing it in Compatibility Mode for Vista?
I assume this is what you want, it's still unclear exactly what you want to do.

I have my old laptop but i updated some dell supplied drivers even others, but i need to install System Software.

What exactly is "kind of drivers and then System Software". What were you trying to do? update the drivers? what software are you trying to install?
You need to use Dell supplied drivers, we find that some non Dell drivers, especially the sound either do not work or do not work correctly.

its vista only.
maybe dell will let system software available in windows 7 in future.

Sorry not been as responsive as normal, been extremely busy as I just started a PhD.
It is already there; it shares Dell Notebook Software with other systems such as the Inspiron 1545. The Inspiron 1545 has Vista 32 bit and 7 32 bit drivers, it is extremely likely that the Windows 7 Dell Notebook Software for the Inspiron 1545 will work perfectly with your Inspiron 1525.
Install the drivers as normal (in the order listed in my guide below). Most the Vista drivers should be okay however for the following use instead:
• Dell Notebook Software R260745
• Bluetooth R226750
• Support Centre
• Dell Webcam Software R230103 (still use the Driver for this Under Mouse and Keyboards)
• Wireless if you have the Intel WiFi card get the driver from their website.
If planning to reinstall Roxio, I would advise against it and instead suggest you use the likes of imgburn (which is free and much less bloated). I think the Modem Drivers are included in Windows 7 (never had to install them in my Inspiron 6400).
