Dell Support Center

I have a new XPS17 Laptop - had it just one month - first time with Dell

Today I Opened the Dell Support Center (V3.0) just to see what it was about - I didn't actually 'do' anything just read about all the features and then Closed it again

A while later I happened to look in the Event Viewer and saw numerous Red Errors - all Event ID 1 -  relating to PC-Doctor....

Error 64 Unable to load library S3 logPusher.dll
Error 123 Plugin S3 log Pusher.dll failed to load
Various other Errors relating to Profiler Snapshots and other items that failed to Load

It looks as if it could be useful (?) but there's obviously something wrong with it so should I Uninstall it?

If I Download\Install again will it be any different?

Thanks

Thanks for your Reply - I think I'll just Uninstall it and leave it at that - as you say - most of it I can do myself anyway

Hard to tell if it's a real error/bug, if something else is interfering with it (e.g., security software), if it's getting hung up trying to update itself, or if it's just an event viewer "false positive", so to speak.

Uninstalling it first from Programs and Features, then reinstalling might fix it, since other forum members have noticed a few updates to the program in the last couple months.   No inside info, though, on when updates are released or what they fix - Dell doesn't provide much documentation for it:

www.dell.com/.../dsc_home

Or, just leave it uninstalled it if you don't need it.  It's as much to make it easier for Dell (warranty support, automatic updates, etc.) as it is a convenient feature for users.  Doesn't do anything you can't do yourself with a bit more effort.

Just FYI:  By default Support Center adds some scheduled tasks for the PC Tuneup and update features.  To see if those errors are popping up while it's trying to run in the background, click on the gear at the top for settings, then check under PC Checkup and Personalization for what it's allowed to do automatically.  You can opt to disable all of those and just run the manual features if you wish.

Hello.

I had a similar problem with DSC3.0. I have uninstalled it and re-installed DSC2.2.

But now, impossible to update again to 3.0: "aulauncher.exe" ends with a message telling that no update are available.

Any idea... before I remove the application?
