Dell Unified Wireless Suite
I have laptop models Latitude E5440 and E7240 with Dell Wireless 1506 802.11 b/g/n (2.4GHz) wireless cards. The driver installation includes the Dell Unified Wireless Suite which we have set to 'Disable on LAN'. When I connect it to the LAN, nothing happens. The wireless remains enabled alongside the LAN. If I start with the LAN connected and then remove it, the wireless remains disabled. The Dell Unified Wireless Suite is running on startup in the user context (C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\Dell Unified Wireless Suite\Wcct.exe quiet" . If I run the program again without the quiet parameter, the autoswitching is enabled. I have no problems connecting to my wireless networks. I know I can put the program in startup but I don't want the program to appear to the end user.
I have updated the wireless drivers with the latest versions and disabled power management settings on the wireless card. The laptops do not have Bluetooth so there is no interference there. I've tried different parameters to start the Unified Wireless program (q, silent, s). How can I make the Wireless tool actually mange the wireless NIC like it is supposed to?
