DRM 2.2 and Dell Command update

After rolling out a number (25) of new Dell laptop and desktop devices earlier this year, I'm looking for an easy solution to managing the firmware and BIOS updates.  I've read that it is possible to use DRM and Dell Command Update by creating a repository for a model of client machine and add an update source to the Command Update software.

I have been able to test this by creating a repository for a Precision 5510 with only the updates released in 2018.  The updates have been downloaded to the local server and the update source (a UNC path) added to the Command Update client.  When the client checks for updates it finds the five updates but shows them all as 0 bytes.  When I click install updates the software goes through the motions of downloading and installing but the summary shows 0 of 5 installed.  The logs don't help identify why the updates aren't downloaded from the UNC path to the client although the folder structure on the client is created.

The only step I had to do outside the DRM software was to add the UNC path to the baseLocation in the catalog.xml file in the repository.

Are these two pieces of software intended to work together in this way and if so, is there any documentation about setting it up (as I can't find any)?
