Error 1305 Message When Trying to Install Word 2002 Wizards/Templates
Hello;
After having Word 2002 for over 3 years now, I just got around to discovering the whole wizards/templates set of tools (just never got around to learning all that Word has available). I was trying to install some of the wizards/templates from the Works Suite 2002 CD Disc 1 per the on screen instructions and get the following error message (differs slightly depending on which template I'm trying to install):
"Error 1305. setup cannot read file C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates\1033\Elegant Report.dot. Check your connection to the network or CD-ROM. For other potential solutions to this problem see C:\Program Files|Microsoft Office\Office 10\1033\Setup.Hlp"
I looked for that last file and it is not on my computer.
Is this happening because these wizards/templates are not on the CD-ROM and have to be downloaded from the good folks at Microsoft or is there something wrong with my files?
Thank you very much for your assistance.
Gerry

I appreciate the response as it certainly is the most logical starting point.

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q242323
It recommends using the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe
I downloaded, installed and ran it. Low and behold, problem solved!
I apologize for not setting up direct links, but a night of insomnia has made me brain dead.
Appreciate the offer of assistance and hope this might help someone else having installer issues.
