errors updating
Hi, let me start off by showing some specs:
Microsoft Windows XP
media center edition
version 2002
sp3
dell dimension DXP061
intel core 2 cpu 6300 @ 1.86GHz
1.86 GHz, 2.00 GB of RAM
ok, I'm trying to get a game running on my XP desktop (this is not game related dont worry), and this required me to update my nVidia driver, so i came here and typed in my code on the back of my pc, and about 15 updates came up. I choose to update my BIOS, nVidia driver, and my chipset. After the updates, and restarting i got a pop up, saying that windows logo testing found something wrong. then I noticed my sound wasnt working. so i ran dxdiag to see what it said, and there was nothing showing up under the sound tab. I ended up doing system restore. which gave be my sounds back but didnt effect the BIOS update, and the gfx updated i know didnt work, but it might be something wrong with the chipset update as well.
Thank You for any help that comes my way!

I don't know what a "DXP061" is without a lot of research. Had you noted the actual Dell model, such as Dimension 9100, XPS410, etc I could have checked the downloads for the system. We are not Dell employees, just users helping users.
However, with an NVIDIA (or ATI) video card you can update that directly from the vendor and in this case www.nvidia.com as long as you know exactly what model video card you have. There are several ways to determine what the actual video card is, if you don't know, but I like the free Belarc Advisor www.belarc.com as it will profile all your hardware.
Since the sound is working, I would assume the chipset is working OK too. If the chipset was corrupted sound and other motherboard installed hardware would not be working.
