How can I Remove songs from the Software?

Hello all,

I just received my Dell yesterday so I am fairly new with it I have had various computer experience and software experience for over 5 yrs but this time I want to make sure I do everything right!  What I did was I accidently scanned my hard drive for music and it came up with over 600 different files from some of the software on here and the rest of them are from video games I have put on here and I was wondering if there was a way to delete those from the software so I can just hear my music that I put on there and not all the other sounds like the windows tada?  Any help ya'll ( Can't you Tell I am from Texas ) can give me would be greatly appreciated.
