In Outlook 2003, how can I efficiently delete old Calendar items?

At regular intervals I like to check to make sure that I haven’t left old Calendar items undeleted. In the Calendar’s Tools menu I click Find > Advanced Find (without specifying what is to be found), then Find Now. The panel at the bottom displays what was found. I can then navigate to out-of-date items and delete them.

Unfortunately, the Find operation lists many recurring items that have long since been deleted, because it lists the date that the item was originally set to occur. I waste a lot of time navigating to those dates, sometime years back, only to find that that day’s calendar is empty.

Is there a way to locate only out-of-date Calendar items that really do still show up in the calendar?
