Java SE Runtime Environment 6 update 7
tried to update this Java SE Runtime Environment 6 update 7, but had to roll back my system to get it working again. Anyone else have this problem? XPS 420 running vista home premium

You may want to try closing all IE sessions and uninstall all Java installations, then install the latest version (Update 11 at the time of writing)
Note there is a reported bug with Update 10 & 11 under Vista: only default settings can be used - it cannot retain any customization. Will see if the next version remedies this

I tried that, unfortunatley to no avail. I'll probably wait for this to sort itself out before trying it again. In the meantime no JAVA I guess. Doesn't seem to hurt so far.

Exactly what problem(s) are you experiencing with updating to the latest version?
After you rolled back to Update 7, was it working?
