Laptop is not starting.
Hi,
I am using Dell Inspiron 5520. It is not starting. I've run the diagnostic test to check for errors. It is showing the following.
Error code: 2000-0142
Validation: 97075
Msg: Hard drive 0 - S/N S2X1JA0C852569, short self test unsuccessful.
What should I do now ?

The error code means the hard drive has fail and need to be replace with a new one. Please click on the link below and stroll down to Parts & Accessories, and then click on Hard drive -Internal.

Recover the data by copying it on an external hard drive using a Fedora Live USB the HDD has failed:

Once the data has been recovered you will need to replace the hard drive with a Solid State Drive, a 240-480 GB Crucial BX200 is a good buy

Once you have the SSD installed its advisable to clean install Windows 10 TH2 if the system doesn't have the latest UEFI BIOS Windows 10 may not install properly however:

If it doesn't have the latest UEFI BIOS you may need to install Windows 8.1 offline then update the UEFI BIOS:
