MediaDirect button on my 630m
I have a 630m with a "MediaDirect" button on the front. When I press it, it says "Unable to launch Dell Media Experience". Did I have to buy this software? If yes..

I have exactly the same problem, with my new XPS M140 laptop. Did you ever get an answer?
If so, could you let me know what the advice was?

it seems that you can download MediaDirect from this webpage. Unfortunately it doesn't work at my 630m, even though the website nor the installation doesn't give any suggestions for solving that...
According to other pages, it should be possible to (re-)install MediaDirect from the Drivers&Util or Repair Util, which you might or might not have received.
Please let me know if you find a solution

Hi,
I have an XPS M140, which is basically the same as the 630M. I was told, and it works for me, that you can only access the Media Direct system when the computer is off.
