Microsoft Office Activation

Question

I am sorry if I am posting it on the wrong place, but I wasn't sure where to post.

So, I bought my Dell laptop a couple of months ago in the US before traveling to Germany. I am starting school here so I bough the Microsoft Office too.

Ok, I got everything and as someone that has always had Macbooks, I am doing pretty well with my Dell and actually enjoying it. The problem is: I just tried activating my Microsoft Office and it cannot be activated here, I believe because it was bought in the US?! But it just really doesn't make any sense for me.

So, is there a solution for it? Did I just throw 100 and some bucks in the trash can buying the Office package? What should I do?

New computer should have Office 2013, not 2010. Try this and use the phone number to explain--

Activation depends on the Key. Sounds typical of a user who did not keep the Microsoft Product Identifier Key Card. The Office 2010 MPI Product Key card came with the unit if you purchased it from Dell.

However you also agreed not to export the product outside the united states.

I have my key! I am not exporting anything, it's a working computer, come on! How can I not be able to work on it wherever I have to?!!! That makes no sense at all and if that's the case well, I want my money back

So, I used your link and went into my Microsoft Office and said I wanted to activate by phone. The software asks me what country I am calling from and gives me a phone local phone number and a key to activate. I call, type in the key, get a confirmation ID, type it in and that's it! Activated.
