Microsoft Outlook message: you cannot create entries for this address book.
I am able to create contacts and I am developing a list in Microsoft Outlook 2002. I assumed the Microsoft Outlook address book was a place to store the addresses of people I don't contact often. When I tried to enter a name and address I got a message: "You cannot create entries for this address book." I have used Outlook Express for several years. I can now see the advantages of the calendar and other tools in Microsoft Outlook, but I don't understand the terms associated with names and addresses. For example how do I identify address books. What is the difference between a "personal address book" and the microsoft outlook address book? Let me enumerate three questions:
- Why can I not create entries in "this"? address book?
- What address book can I create entries in?
- Where can I get user friendly information about Microsoft Outlook address books and contact lists and Outlook Express address books?
Thanks for any help you can give.
Jerry

Thanks, Allan for the information that confirmed that I don't need to use an address book with 2002.
If I remember correctly, my old address books had a separate way to list organizations. I didn't see anyway to enter an organization without using the name of a person in that organization in Microsoft Outlook. I probably missed something along the way. Nevertheless, I entered the name Westport Benefits as the full name.
Now, when I looked to see the label, I discovered that I could use the down arrow to change the way, the name was displayed. I also discovered that I could give Westport Benefits the job title of Administrator. Then I entered Crescent Dental Plans as the company name. I then used the File as down arrow to select Crescent Dental Plans. When I checked the current view menu and clicked phone list, by company, etc., it seems like this will work for me. So I guess my question is: Is there a better way?
One more question. For a List serve, should I use the name of the group or society as the company name to enter the e-mail address for posting replies?
Once again, thanks in advance for your help.
