My Dell Downloads not working

I recently did a fresh install of Windows 8.1 on my Inspiron 15z 5523. I wanted to reload the bundled software from the My Dell Downloads website using Internet Explorer 11. However when I attempt to register my system "Examining your computer please wait ..." blinks on the screen for a split second then nothing else happens. I didn't get any prompts to install any add-on such as "SysPro.exe from Dell Inc."

Any thoughts on why this is happening and how to fix it?

FINALLY!

I stuck to my guns.... and basic just kept saying I was tired of their incompetency.... and sure enough... FINALLY! HOLY ***!!! insane!!! Here was my last e-mail before they called me today to say they updated their system with my email address/service tag...

Thank you for the response. I have sent the details to the backend team who has been working on this case. I will get back to after we receive a response from them.

HOPEFULLY.. this can help others.... *** even though it was finally fixed... based off of this experience, I doubt I would EVER buy a DELL again!

I  followed this video on how to use My Dell Downloads but I don't get the prompt to allow SysPro.exe to be installed. "Examining your computer please wait ..." blinks on the screen for a split second then nothing else happens.

Is there another way to install SysPro.exe

That is not included on My Dell downloads page. It is a file created by the system profiler when allowing scanning, not included in windows. Use Internet Explorer to scan your computer and allow access thru the firewall. You also have to register your computer. Go to My Dell Downloads using IE. It's here--

Thanks for the reply.

The video shows the prompt to install SysPro.exe so I assumed it was a required part of the process.

I used IE11 to do System Analysis on my computer. I'm assuming that is what you mean by scan. All drivers are up to date. Dell update is running and declares system is up to date. Dell System Detect is running as well. The laptop appears in My Product List in My Account on Dell.com too.

However the same symptom appears when I try to register on the My Dell Downloads page. "Examining your computer please wait ..." appears for a split second, goes away then nothing else happens. I tried to register with the firewall turned off as well, same problem.

Tried installing Java in hopes it would allow my computer to register successfully on My Dell Downloads but nope didn't make a difference.

It seems it should be much simpler than this to obtain the software that originally came installed on the laptop.

When I look in My Account on Dell.com, I'm presented with

Download Factory Installed Software takes me to:

When I accept the terms a "Register System" button appears at the bottom. When I click it, the button goes away and a minute or so later "Examining your computer please wait ..." blinks at the bottom for only a split second, goes away then nothing else happens. I never get a prompt to install SysPro.exe nor do I get any errors.

The software I'm trying to get is the Cyberlink suite that was originally installed from the factory.

What software are you looking for? That system likely uses Dell Digital Delivery opposed to My Dell Downloads and you cannot register on My Dell Downloads without the syspro.exe.

I installed Dell Digital Delivery and it says:

Wouldn't it be simpler to just put a link to the bundled software in the drivers and downloads area?

This Dell Knowledge Base link explains how to get Cyberlink Media Suite from My Dell Downloads. However, until I can get registered on My Dell Downloads. I guess I'm just out of luck. I wonder if anyone has tried to use My Dell Downloads after doing a fresh install using Windows 8.1?

*Edit* I just created another user account in case the issue is Dell account profile related. When I logged in to the new account, the laptop service tag appeared immediately in the new account. Again I could not register on My Dell Downloads and it failed in exactly the same way.

I wonder though, is there something wrong with the My Dell Downloads website because I just tried to register one of my other Dell laptops and it didn't work in exactly the same way. That laptop is running Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 11. I used my original account to log in.

I tried to register my third Dell laptop today. Again it failed in exactly the same issue.

Does My Dell Downloads actually work for anyone?

Could someone try My Dell Downloads and let me know if it works. I've tried 3 different laptops and none worked.

Thanks in advance.
