What kinds of issues are happening when you open it. Any error messages? How do you know its not working?

it just says help and support unable to run after several attempts do you want to continue trying (yes or no) and it continues to not run

I believe this application known as Dell Help and Assist has been replaced by MyDell (www.dell.com/.../support-center). Installing this should give you back all of your fancy device specific features: Download application and run the installation program.
