office 2003 upgrade certificate
Hello Everyone.
Back in September when I purchased my p.c. it came with a "office 2003 upgrade certificate" that could be used as of November 1st. When I goto the link on the cert. it tells me to call customer service and when I do they are not aware of the cert and quote me a price $239 for the upgrade kit. Does anyone know what the correct price should be and who I can talk to about getting it?
Thanks/Drew

I believe the PRO version of Office 2003 also adds in Access, which is a fairly significant addition if you work with databases. If you order a Dell today, the difference in price is $70 between the Small Business Edition versus the Pro version. If it were me, I would go with the Pro version because it does have Access. I still think the way this is being handled stinks--we would all have been much better off buying the retail version of Office XP instead of through Dell.

I can relate to frustrating "Office 2003 upgrade certificate" experiences, though mine has a happier ending. I actually got through to someone who knew what I was wanting on my 3rd try. My first two tries were not during business hours. The number to call is 800-433-9511. It bypasses most of the telephone menus.
It looks as though if you ordered the professional edition of 2003 you only pay $49.95, but if you only originally ordered the SBE edition you pay $99.95
I had to pay the $99 for the SBE upgrade, BUT I am gaining Powerpoint AND the contact manager. I may be mistaken, but I believe the Pro upgrade only adds the contact manager which is why the upgrade is cheaper.
