Powerpoint Kiosk Mode Problems

I'm working with an Inspiron 15 5000 2-in-1 for an exhibit and am trying to have it run powerpoint 2016 as a kiosk using tablet mode.  I can't figure out what the problem is, but for some reason when I do this the screen doesn't register touches as commands to move through the presentation.  It works fine in presenter mode as well as when I use a mouse in kiosk mode.  I've tried this on non-dell machines and never had any problems, so I'm not sure what is going on.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!
