Re-install Office 2000

Question

Hello everyone,I would like to gleen information from you regarding my Laptop.The story is(get a cup of tea and sit down) I purchased a Mazda Mx5 Turbo with onboard piggyback ECU all linked to a hookup via a laptop which came with the car.A Dell Latitude CPx model PPX Ref 99080 and with software to tune up the car.Now the bit I am trying to get my head arround,I have had to reinstall with a genuine windows 2000 professional including service pack1 which came with the computer,the trouble is it requires a 25 number/figure code but I cannot find any information either on the disc or case or the base of the laptop there is no long reference number anywhere?? I do not require to log on  line with this laptop all I want is to use it to tune up my car any suggestions!!!!!   Regards George..................................

Sorry to hear about your problem.  The number is usually on the outside of the case for the Windows CD.  The only other place I've ever seen one is on the outside of the Windows 2000 Manual.  You should have had one with the CD.  Hope this helps!

You are in the wrong forum if you are reinstalling Windows Pro 2000. Which is it--Office or Windows? Office 2000 key is on the cd case. If you have it installed on a diff computer, you might be able to retrieve the key using the free Belarc Advisor. If it's Windows 2000 you are installing, the laptop should have the key for its version of Windows on a sticker on the bottom of the computer. It would also be on the cd case. If you don't have any key, see if you have a Service tag and contact Dell with that. The operating system is supposed to stay with the computer.
