Recieved Office 2013 key, Office 2010 installed on computer
Hello, I have a new Dell Vostro that came with a key for Office Home and Business 2013. However, Office 2010 has been preinstalled on this machine. Is there a way to download the proper version of H & B 2013?
Thanks

Hi nova-tek,
I suggest that you download Microsoft Office 2013 software from the link given below and then activate the software using the product key you have.

Awesome! Thanks!
I just kept getting Office 365 links.

I have the same problem too with my new Latitude. According to customer service, there is a problem but she was unable to provide me a resolution. She said she would provide a link to download the correct version, but that it would take a day (?) to get it to me. I've been pretty unhappy with the laptop so far, although the hardware seems pretty good. The fact that part of the shipment wasn't sent or that the software I had explicitly ordered won't work has been a great let down.
I've tried to (casually) find a trial version of 2013 to download and use the supplied product key as a way to get ahead. But with Microsoft ramming Office 365 through, I'm having a surprisingly difficult time getting the trial version.

I just ran into this issue and found that you can download the right version from MS here:

Before you download anything, make double sure you don't have Outlook 2013 already installed. Go to add/remove programs and look for it.
My machine came and only showed Office 2010 on the start menu. I called Microsoft and of course they didn't know anything except that my outlook 2013 product key wasn't any good for outlook 2010. duh.
In the process of pulling my hair out I saw office 2013 and had to maneuver the shortcuts onto my desktop but once I did that, I was able to open (excel for example) activate it and waa-laaa it works.
