Setting up Yahoo Mail on Outlook

Question

What is the server URL that I need to use to setup my yahoo mail on outlook? I setup my hotmail account, but cannot seem to get my yahoo email account to work. Any Help?

The only information that i was able to gather said that you have to be a Yahoo! Mail Plus client in order to user the Yahoo! Mail in Outlook. I've used Yahoo mail for many years now and can tell you for sure that, unless you have Yahoo Plus, the paid version of yahoo mail, you can't read your mail in Outlook.    Yahoo used to allow 'popping' of your yahoo mail into other mail programs like outlook.  A couple of years ago, they changed their policy and you can no longer do it unless you upgrade to the Plus (paid) version.  You can, however, still 'pop' mail from other accounts INTO your yahoo mail by going to email options.    I know this isn't the answer you hoped for, but at least this answers your question.

I looked at my Outlook settings & compared them to the POP, SMTP & NNTP server settings information page on Yahoo. I also read the message that was posted previously indicating the possibility that a conflict may exist if you do not have a paid Yahoo account. My Yahoo account hasn't always been a paid one and I've never had a problem with Outlook. However, I am now on SBC Yahoo DSL so that may be the reason why the link between Outlook & Yahoo continues to work for me.

In any case, the Outlook settings look like this:

In Tools:Settings:Properties:Servers...

Incoming mail server = POP3, Incoming mail = pop.yahoo.com, Outgoing mail = smtp.yahoo.com; check the box requiring outgoing server authentication.

On the Advanced tab...

Outgoing mail port = 25, incoming mail port = 110

Be sure your email address & password on the General tab is set to your Yahoo acccount.

I think the yahoo server's adresses are Pop.mail.yahoo.com Smtp.mail.yahoo.com

Yahoo's help pages have special settings for accessing mail through another server, in this case Comcast. http://help.yahoo.com/us/tutorials/mail/mail/mail_access4.html If that's not what you need, look around that site for more help.
