Software Download purchased from Dell
I just purchased (and paid for) a software download on Dell's website (Microsoft Outlook 2013). I thought that software downloads were supposed to be immediately available - but the confirmation I received shows the order to be "in production" with the estimated delivery date a week from now. This doesn't make any sense to me. Can someone please explain how this works (meaning - how long do you really have to wait to download software purchased through Dell's website)? Thanks.

Contact your credit card company to make sure you were not charged. It is better to buy office products from Microsoft website HERE.

You should ask Customer Service about this. Go the original site you ordered from and use the links on that page. This is all I could find:

This site says it takes 4-8 hours--not days. There might be a problem with your order.

There must be a problem with the order. When I checked the status today its still showing an expected delivery of 11/28 (a week after the date ordered). When I tried to contact Customer Service per your suggestion I found out that Dell Customer Service (at least to check on orders) is not available on weekends. This is true both for on-line Chat and for phone support. I find it extremely odd that a major tech company like Dell would not have 24/7 customer support for all types of questions - but it seems that is the case. I guess I will just have to wait until Monday to follow up on the order. Next time I will just buy from Amazon. At least they have 24/7 support for problems with order.

Thanks - I got the software download information today (Monday) from Dell. I guess they don't process orders on a weekend. Next time I will take your advice and purchase Microsoft downloads directly from Microsoft.
