Use of Dell Security Tools Backup Data and backup encryption key?

I've used the Dell Data Protection | Security Tools program to activate encryption on a self-encrypting drive on a Windows 7 machine. The system is operating normally; however, I realized that I do not know the Administrator password for Security Tools. I don't foresee a need to ever turn off encryption on the drive, and I don't use the authentication tools, so I don't know if I would ever need it, but if there's a way to recover it then I'd like to go ahead and do that.

I have a disc that was created during the setup process that has a "Dell Security Tools Backup Data" folder with an "OpalSPKey. .recovery.dat" file. Is this file usable to reset the Security Tools administrator password?

That disc also has a backup File System Encryption Key. I know what that is for, but I figure now is the time to ask: if I need to recover the filesystem, how do I use that disc to do so? I'd rather learn now than when I need it last minute.

Thank you!

Since I originally submitted, I have run into an issue--without the password, I'm unable to add any new user accounts to PBA, so my existing account is the only one able to unlock the drive. I could repurpose that account into a common-use unlocking account, but would rather recover the Security Tools password if possible.
