Windows 7 conflict with Roxio DE 10.2
Don't know if anyone is having this problem. Upgraded my Inspiron 530 desktop from Vista 32 bit to Windows 7 pro 64 bit. Got everything to work fine with previous Dell software except Roxio Creator DE 10.2, every time I load it, the program freezes when I try to open it. Have installed, uninstalled several times to no avail. Not sure Roxio Creator DE 10.2 is usable now with this current configuration, any ideas out there? Is it not Windows 7 capable? Is it somehow tied to the previous OS supplied by Dell? I bought the Windows 7 upgrade directly from Microsoft? Anyway, at a loss as to what to do unless I buy a burner application off the shelf....

Try installing Roxio in the Vista compatibility mode. Since it worked in Vista, this may allow it to work. Otherwise with Roxio's history of problems (i had so many with different Retail versions that I finally dumped them for Nero) look for another burning program that is Win 7 64 compatible.
I'm using Nero 9 and it is Win 7, 64 bit compatible.

Thanks much, I'll check Nero out, seems this problem is common place and I need to go with something not so problematic as Roxio.......

Whilst Nero is a popular program, it's not cheap!
For that reason alone, you might want to consider trying one or more of the many FREE burning programs available - which include:
CD Burner XP (highly recommended. Supports both Windows 7, and 64bit OS - even though there's no specific 64bit version of the program)
ImgBurn (also very good - and also supports Windows 7 64bit. Not updated as regularly/frequently as CD Burner XP)
Deep Burner
Final Burner FREE
Ultimate CD/DVD Burner
Totally Free Burner
Other than the first two though, I can't advise on Windows 7/64bit compatibility?
And of course if you used Roxio Creator for anything other than burning discs, free alternatives which offer those same capabilities, AND are Windows 7/64bit compatible, will obviously be much more limited.
But I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by either/both those. I used to use CD Burner XP myself :emotion-5:

Thanks much, appreciate the heads up on the free apps, I've seen CD Burner XP positively mentioned several times as well. I'll definitely check it out..........:emotion-21:

Roxio Creator 10.3 is the version included with new Dell systems with Windows 7.
Roxio has released a 10.2 to 10.3 patch for Creator DE for Windows 7.

Hopefully that fixes your problem.
