Word and Front Page problem with opening files

Question

Word 2002 SP3 and Front Page 2003 SP3.

When I go to "File", "Open" the window that says "Look In" shows the current directory. When I click on the little arrow on the right of the window the window dissapears and the program locks up and says it is "not responding" when I use ctrl-alt-delete to close it. None of the other software that I have does this.

The system is a Dimension 9200/XPS410 with 4gb of RAM.

Have you tried the 'Detect and Repair' option in those programs? - You will need the installation CD's for both.  Detect and Repair is found on the Help pulldown menu in those programs (I have FP 2003).
