I have been running a powerpoint slide show for our church on this setup with no problems. (2200mp/8600). Yesterday, I could not get the display to show up in both places. It works fine when viewing from only the projector, or only the laptop. When trying to view both, the projector shows only the center of the view that is on the laptop screen. If I keep scrolling the mouse to the left, it will eventually show up on the projector screen. It will not show the presentation, only the desktop. I have the laptop on 1280x1024 and projector on 800x600. These settings, to my knowledge, have not been changed. I've tried to make them both the same with no success. The primary monitor is currently the Laptop and the secondary is the projector. FN(F8) does nothing but switch between the two. I've tried starting up in all the possible combinations I can think of....HELP!!!!!!!
Did you mention what version of Windows operating system you are using. I saw this problem on a Windows system and the professor having the problem resolved it by using the two monitors (logical, in Windows) and switching to a different "monitor" (either the big or the smaller picture / icon). The same thing was happening there -- the PowerPoint would not show, just the desktop. Once he switched (selected alternate) "monitor" the problem cleared up. This is a permanently-mounted ceiling projector and the brand is other than Dell. I work at a graduate school providing support to faculty, staff and students.

CofC,
Have you tried doing a factory reset of the projector?
Respectfully,
