3200MP will not turn on with Remote

Question

We have a ceiling mounted 3200MP with a VGA/Mouse to CAT5 Extender. Everything works well (Video is Good) and the remote mouse works. The problem is that when the Extender box on the projector side is plugged into the projector (Mouse and VGA connectors), the unit will not turn on with the remote. However we are able to turn the projector on from the power button on the projector. When the projector is on, all remote control functions work including powering down the unit.

Why will the projector not turn on when the VGA and mouse ports are connected? Please we need a resoulution before someone breaks the unit by turning it on with a pointer stick.

We have had this same problem occur when a Laptop is directly connected to the Projector. we have several Dell 3200MP projectors and they all do the same thing. Dell has sent us a new remote control, to see if that would correct the problem, but it did not work. The

The problem only happens when something is plugged into the mouse port on the projector. Below is a summary of events 1) Projector with just power  - Remote will power it up 2) Vga cable plugged into SV560UTP  - Remote will power up 3) Mouse cable plugged into SV560UTP - Remote will not power up, but Power Button on Projector will. 4) Remove all Data cables - Remote still does not work 5) unplug power and reconnect power cord. Ok. So different projectors, different remotes, in the end, StarTech is going to have to tweak their hardware. But, does a keyboard function? Once powered on, does the mouse function?

Yes the Mouse works well with the Extender as I mentioned in my original post. I, however disagree with the comment that the extender is at fault for the following reasons.

Plugging a mouse device into the Projector should not prevent the Projector from not working with the remote, but only with the On/Off button on the projector.

This does happen with Laptops plugged into the Projector and no extender in the equation.

This unit has a ceiling mount package sold for it. Then the unit should be able to be turned on and off remotely with a device plugged into the Mouse port. Unless Dell forgot to send the ladder.

* Your not plugging a mouse device into the projector. Your plugging the mouse into the extender, not directly into the projector. The extender is the acting passthrough. Or am I just not "seein" this?

This does happen with Laptops plugged into the Projector and no extender in the equation.
* Mouse plugged into notebook, notebook connected to projector = no mouse?
