5100MP a Network Projector?
I just bought a 5100MP after being told by a Dell sales rep that it allowed presentations over a network connection (ie, laptop and projector are both connected to the LAN, but are not directly connected to each other).
I have not been able to fine this functionality. It does have a network port and an HTML interface, but this seem to allow basic control (turn lamp on/off, change source and brightness). I have not found anyway to actually send a video signal to the projector over a network connection, nor have I found anything in the documentation. The projector did not come with any software and Dell's support page does not list this model yet.
Does anyone know if this projector actually supports some kind of video over IP functionality which would allow me to run presentations over the LAN like I was told it could?

You can access the projector using a web browser by configuring the network setting (TCP/IP). When using the network function, the IP address should be unique. Use the IP Address function on Network Setting menu (See the OSD section of the Owner's manual, page 34).

You can only use the Network setup to access the Web Management application. You cannot send files through this.

There is a projector control software available to control network projectors. As far as I remember the name is NetControl from a company called Bitlogix. I do not recall if they support video over IP but check out their website www.bitlogix.com . Maybe this helps to control your Dell projector.

Dell projectors are not on their "Supported Product" List.

I'm integrating projector into training device for USAF.Can you provide the IP message formats for the Web Management messages please? I need to build them into a custom application and calling a web browser to control the projector is not feasible.Tx1090

Is there a SDK for the projector software? I am in need of more advanced features that are not provided by the Dell Management Software. Although the web interface is good, the features are too basic and not functional for what I need it to do.
