VGA Extender with 2200MP

Hi I'm trying to use a Dell 2200MP Projector with an Aten VE120 video extender.  The setup works with a monitor connected to the projector's VGA loop through port but the projector never detects the input. 

A Viewsonic multisync monitor hooked up reports 37kHz Horizontal and 60.3 Hz Vertical @ 800 x 600 x 16.

 

An older 3M projector works great when hooked up in place of the 2200MP.  If I could ceiling mount the 3M I'd do it and be done, but the 2200MP is already mounted.

 

Any ideas or suggestions appreciated.
