1U KVM console issues
Back in August we purchased THIS 1U KVM rack console for our datacenter. It was meant to replace a Belkin 1U KVM rack console that really wasn't designed to sit in a rack properly and open up all the way if the rack was completely full with servers (it needed room to swing the screen open into some dead space above the console). We already has THIS 1U KVM switch in place in our rack and it worked perfect with the Belkin console.
Enter the new Dell rack console. The screen--works great. The mouse--does what it's supposed to, though not fond of the side placement... no big deal in the end, though. The keyboard? Utter rubbish. It makes this console useless with our setup. We already RMA'd this thing out and are experiencing the exact same results with the replacement. Keys stick constantly. Shift and CTRL are the biggest culprits. Shift will often stick a few moments and suddenly decide after several seconds that it's not being held down. But it's not just those. I can go to a Windows server login screen and suddenly the highlighted form field / button just starts spinning around from field to field on it's own without touching a button . It's like tab is being held down or one of the arrow keys.
Needless to say, I can't really do my job with this useless keyboard. It's nearly impossible to log into servers given the way the keys react. I spent 7-8 minutes one day trying to log into a server and had to leave the datacenter to log in remotely back at the office finally. It's like there is a big incompatibility between this console and the KVM switch. The KVM switch has two PS2 ports. This console has a PS2 mouse, but a USB keyboard connection with a converter to PS2.
Does anyone have any experience with this pieces of work and other KVM switches? Are we going to have to get another KVM switch? Is there some trick I'm missing that might make things level out and work right? We can't send this thing back for a refund at this point and in its current state--it's a paper weight, albeit a useless paperweight as well.

The Keyboard on the KVM that we sell has very similar issues when plugged into a Belkin KVM switch. I don't know what causes it or how to fix it. Does the keyboard have issues when you plug it directly into the server?
