Dell 1MW70 - TPM for Dell R440
I have recently acquired a Dell R440. But it has no TPM module. So I purchased one online - the Dell 1MW70 compatible - refurbished. But it doesn't work in the server - it errors (all drivers etc. have been updated to most recent available from Dell). I have since read that you cannot move a TPM into another server once it has been installed in a server as it is forever assigned to the first server. Is that correct? If it is then I need to send this back. And if it is correct, then how/where do I purchase a TPM that is unused and will work with a R440? Thanks.

The issue you are seeing is due to the fact that once a TPM has been installed previously it is bound to that motherboard. So with it being a refurbished one, I would assume that it has previously been installed. You can see this on the cation on the page here.

That's the problem I'm having. I can't find it on this site at all. It's not there as a part for a Dell R440. I've tried the helpline who said that Sales would forward on an email with a link of where to buy it. And nothing arrived by email.
I want to buy a TPM but no one at Dell seems to specifically know how I do it. They just tell me where I 'should' be able to buy one from.
Can someone please direct me to a link of where to buy one from?

Thanks, but that is for Singapore. It won't let me order to the UK, and if I switch to the UK it loses the page. Is there not a UK link for this TPM please?

That's just the generic UK Dell Head Office phone number. And when you ring it you just get straight to an answer phone. And no one rings you back.
Is there no one at DELL that knows how a DELL user can buy a DELL TPM module?
Why is it so difficult?

The phone number doesn't work. It diverts you to an answering machine with no message.
There is no transfer.
There is no service tag entry.
This is such an embarrassment for Dell.

So I've spoken to Sales. They direct me to the Dell site in Singapore to buy the part. I tell them that it is not available for shipping in the UK. Eventually they come back. And what do they say? "We don't know what to do about this. Can we re direct you to..........tech support."
So round and round and round I go.
And I STILL can't buy a TPM module.
USELESS!!!

Has ANYONE got any idea where I can get an official DELL TPM module for a R440?
I've tried 2 off Amazon and Ebay - they don't work.
And DELL WON'T sell me one.

I managed to source one of these myself from a UK company called ETB Technologies.
Dell - you were useless.
