It is not going EOS within the next weeks. Dell skipped the R560 because of Covid17 and they make the R570 available right now. HINT: R470 and R570 are now Single Socket Only modells.
If you buy youir R550 with 7Y ProSupport they have to support it until 2032. Even if you just buy the 5Y now you will get most likely additional 2Years.
Because i am a Dell reseller for 17 years now. With each new generation there is a period of 6-9 month of overlapping where both are available. And EndOfSale doesnt mean EndOfSupport.
Just ask for a new R570 and compare both quotes and offering.
Regards,
Joerg

The R550 is NOT EOS. I sold the last one last week and Dell delivered to day on the customer location.
I can only speak for central europe and "business" may looks different in your part of the world but because we also support customers on the other side of the planet i can say when we deal with other Dell partners we are often surprised how they act different compare to us, which means you dont get a quote for what you have request instead the try to sold you what is available or is in stock in their shop.
Try to ask your sales rep.
The 17Gen. with Intel 6Gen Xeons and Performance Cores are ReadyToQuote since last week or two and will start shipping at the end of this month. We already quoted R670 and 770 to customers. I have to take a look if the same is true for the R570 or if this modess is part of the 2nd. wave.

Joerg
