Finding issue with faulty disk

Hi,

We have server that we get an alert on it for a disk. It's a R740XD. In the logs I see:

Drive 3 in disk drive bay 1 is operating normally. Wed 18 Sep 2019 15:22:13
Fault detected on drive 3 in disk drive bay 1. Mon 16 Sep 2019 19:58:44

So my questions were:

  1. How do I find out what the exact issue was with the disk?
  2. How did it fix its self that it's working now? Should the disk be replaced regardless?

Hello

I suggest using a storage management application like OpenManage Server Administrator to get more information. You can find system management downloads on the system support page. Documentation can be found on the system support page and the product support page.

You can also run diagnostics and review drive information in the storage controller BIOS.
