R640 Not Booting, Stuck on Dell EMC Splash Screen
We have a PowerEdge R640 server that is hanging on the Dell EMC screen after a reboot and isn't booting back into ESXI. We have tried power cycling the server and the Dell EMC screen status shows "Initializing Intel Ultra Path Interconnect" and then shows "Configuring Memory" for about 20 seconds and then status disappears and doesn't move past the Dell EMC screen. Tried reset (warm boot) and power cycle (cold boot) but still having same issue. See snapshots from boot capture attached. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you!

Hello,
Please make sure that all components such as memory, CPU, and any PCIe cards are securely seated.
Disconnect any peripherals and external devices. Remove any non-essential PCIe cards and try booting with minimal hardware.
To clear the NVRAM:
Additionally, check for any beep codes and note any diagnostic lights or LCD messages that might indicate a hardware failure.
If your server has iDRAC enabled, try accessing it via the network using the assigned IP address. iDRAC can provide valuable diagnostic information and allow you to perform hardware tests and updates.
Hope that helps!

Hello thanks for choosing Dell.
Have you made any changes to the system recently?
If not we could try the minimum configuration to post, please see below:

Hello Young,
No recent changes have been made to this server. We have a total of 12 x R640's and this is the only one having issues . We have created a bootable ISO from the Dell Repository Manager and mounted it from KVM console and set the boot control to auto boot to ISO but it still hangs in same spot. We will check if the server can be booted using minimum configuration and update shortly.
Much appreciated,

Hi,
There might be an issue with the BIOS version. After you have done minimum to post configuration, access to BIOS and disable correctable memory logging under Memory settings. Then, update the BIOS to the latest version. Once done, install all or in pairs of the memory you have.

Did you ever figure this out? I have the same issue. I have no access to the BIOS on mine. It doesn't get that far. So I can't try the method Joey mentioned. I'm hoping its not bricked. Ironically mine is the same previous version as the screenshots. 2.8.2.

Same issue here. BIOS version is 2.10.0 on R640. Did Dell's accepted solution fix the issue? I'm remote and am looking to see if anyone has had success resolving this issue, so as to avoid a trip to the datacenter...

Hi,
Just to confirm, if I read correctly, you're sharing that the BIOS update to the latest help to resolve the issue?
