Kawo,

I would suggest again taking it to Minimum to Post configuration, of removing everything but the following;

•System board
•Risers
•Processor (CPU1) with Heatsink
•Power Supply
•One stick of memory in dual in-line memory module (DIMM) slot A1
•Control Panel with cable

Once done then locate the NVRam jumper, between the dimms and the power supply housing. Clear the NVRAm by moving that jumper over and then applying power.

If the server boots then you can read this to learn about resetting the password.

Let me know how it goes.

Hi Chris,

Unfortunately nothing has changed. I did as you wrote. Moreover I changed CPU, but still no VGA signal. I have the same situation as I had had before. During first start the server turn itself off (appr. around 10sec after power on) and after 2-3 seconds turn itself on but no display signal (checked both ports - front and bottom). On front LCD there are no errors and iDRAC replies to ping. Any idea what is going on ?

Cheers

Could you verify if you removed all USB and external connections as well when you did the Minimum to Post configuration? Also do you happen to have a known good working R710 we could test parts in the server with?

I removed every external devices/connection from server. Moreover I switched power supply, CPU and memory. Unfortunately I don't have a spare device to make a parts test. Do you have any idea what is going on? Dead motherboard?

It could be the board, but I would also check if when you plug it in and turn it on the power supplies show green?

Also, if youre using a UPS, I would try bypassing that for a basic outlet to test, as well as reseating everything and check connection points for damage. If you don't find anything I would assume it is the board.
