Hi,

possible troubleshooting steps:
Perform an AC power cycle on the server by completely unplugging it for a few minutes before restarting.
Update the iDRAC firmware and BIOS to the latest versions if you haven't already done so.
Check the fan speeds and compare them to a working R720 server if possible.
If the problem persists after trying these steps, it may indicate a faulty inlet temperature sensor that needs to be replaced. In this case, contact Dell Support for a quote on a possible hardware replacement.

Hello,

The temperature sensor is on the Control panel on an R720.

I would recommend:

drain flea power (shut down, disconnect power cables and Network cables, hold in power button 20 seconds with cords removed).

After flea power drain, system has to set for 3 minutes for DRAC to reset without any power plugged in.

At this time, Open the server lid and do a re-seat of the control panel cable at the Motherboard side and the Control Panel side:

Close lid.

Then plug in NIC and power but wait 2 minutes before power on to give DRAC time to initialize.

@Dell-Martin S Thanks for your replay.
I did everything as you suggested, but the issue is still not fixed.
Cloud you please advise which model of the inlet temperature sensor should I buy myself, as this server is exceeded maintenance period.

Hi, I have the exact same problem. The temperature of the System Board Inlet is now available.  Was this fixed in any way with software adjustments or did it require any hardware modification?
