SERIAL NUMBER IDENTIFICATION WITHOUT POWER OFF
Hello Community,
I have an let's say tricky question about my situation.
I have an Power Edge R530 hosting a Windows Server 2012 R2 operating system. I have detected that my POWER SUPPLY, 495 W, REDUNDANT, 13 G, ARTICLE, V 4 with Part Number: VKDD2 and ASSEMBLY, CARD (CIRCUIT), INTERFACE, PIB, PER530/T430 with Part Number: 12PJJ are damaged but the Power Supply is still blinking green, so it's working. Since i cant leave my system with one PS and i have to make the warranty with DELL EMC that is asking me the serial number's for the damaged part's: is there a way to get the serial numbers from command line ore something similar without powering off the server?
I would really appreciate a solution without powering off. Forgot to mention that i google something but every solution was that i should power off the server and look to the parts.

Hello Dylan,
Thanks a lot for your reply. Is this possible through Dell Open Manage? Because the server does not have an idrac port .

You should be able to remove the PSU without issue, and the other one would keep the server up (provided both are giving you the green light. Anyway, to give a direct answer to your question, you can find this in the iDRAC at Server > Properties > System Inventory, then at the bottom of the Hardware Inventory table.

I think so, but I don't have an OMSA instance to verify this with. I checked the user guide to see if the location of the hardware inventory or system inventory was listed, but didn't find it. You might try the racadm hwinventory commands, though. Racadm is a CLI package that comes with OMSA that would let you query the iDRAC. If you also need the service tag, this command would provide it.

Hello Dylan,
I google'd something about this situation and thought that understood this thing: The switching of the part that handle the redundant role for power supply's need a board intervention; saying that the server must be powered off.
