The Dell Rails typically have 1 1/2" of adjustment.  What is the model of server?  There are adapter brackets available that will make up the difference if you need them.  Look for P/N 1UBRK-200 on RackSolutions.com.  This is relatively easy to fix, give me a call and let's discuss it.

Will--

It's a PowerEdge SC 1435.  I can't see where the pieces that attach to the rack itself can adjust at all.  I will take a look at the website.

Thanks

The front brackets are riveted on and they do not move.  The rear brackets have a shoulder rivet and can move.

Ok, really dumb question time-- unlike the diagram, the pins on the bracket aren't coming through the slots.  It appears that the two pieces are "riveted" together.  I could probably pry them apart, but this doesn't seem logical.  What am I missing here?

Thanks

The static rails for the SC1435 are ajustable with the rear bracket.  They don't have alot of adjustment but the bracket does move.  If the rack is still too deep then you need a set of brackets.

Look at the Rack Installation Guide on page 9 and you can clearly see the slot that the rear brackets slide on.

The 1UBRK-200 will reduce the installation depth of your rack by 2.0" which is what it sounds like you need.

Sorry, I'm still not following.  It doesn't appear that either end will move. I could probably pop the front rivets off, but there again I'm afraid of bending it.

No, the "pins" are not in the slots, and they rivet the two pieces together so that it can't be moved.  I will try to call at some point tomorrow.
